Local Community Support: How We Help
At Henderson Environmental we are committed to supporting local charities and youth organisations and we work with non-profits to ensure they can continue to help those in need.
As a team, we like to do our bit to provide local community support in any way we can, whether that’s sponsoring a club, donating funds, or fundraising to help keep a charity afloat.
The People’s Kitchen
We recently made a donation to the People’s Kitchen, a soup kitchen and support system for homeless and vulnerable people in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
The organisation is open on weekday evenings and weekend mornings offering hot meals and someone to talk to, which is often a lifeline for vulnerable people who are looking to enjoy food and some company in a safe space.
The People’s Kitchen serves over 250 meals a day 365 days a year, offers clothing and toiletries, and a place to have a hot shower and freshen up for those who need it.
The team of 230 volunteers give up over 50,000 hours of their time in total to provide a light in the dark for people in need.
Our recent donation has been put to good use at the kitchen, and we are proud to be supporting such a great cause.
Whickham Fellside YFC
In addition to supporting local charities, we sponsor a local youth football team, Whickham Fellside YFC Under 15 Yellows. Whickham Fellside FC provides a safe and enjoyable environment for young ones to enjoy grassroots football.
We are proud to support this club that helps to develop football skills in young ones aged 5 and upwards, building their confidence, encouraging them to get involved in sports, and have fun!
The team manager said, “Whickham Fellside U15 Yellows are just about to start their ninth season together, having started at age seven! Whickham Fellside FC is a very close-knit Whickham-based team where most of the boys who started on Day One are still with us today. Team spirit and the bond between the boys is very much a priority for us over “winning at all costs”, albeit the boys are naturally determined to do their best, and over the years have won leagues and have done really well winning a number of “middle level” tournaments.
The pinnacle thus far came at Easter when the team travelled to Amsterdam to take part on their first International Tour – an amazing time was had by all players (and parents), and memories were made that will last a lifetime”.
We are always looking out for ways we can provide local community support to North East based charities and causes and are proud to get involved in any way we can to help.
